Veterans Day is just around the corner, November 11th. Do you know a veteran? There are so many ways to show we recognize our veterans and are grateful for them in our lives. This is one special day to do it! A simple card or phone call to a veteran of your choice would make his/her day, week, year! If each of us takes 5 minutes to recognize someone, that could be more than 500 vets just this year!

Our Camp Snoops Project continues to make strides each year (even during the pandemic) to reach new schools, teachers and students in our mission to promote Memorial and Veterans Day education.

Please send us a teacher’s email that you know and we will reach out to them to offer our FREE postcards, educational activities and even possible funding of veteran attended events. Be sure to give info@campsnoops.org to any teacher you know.

Thank you to our large number of supporters who think of us daily during their work days, their personal time and even when facing grief.

This year Camp Snoops has been the beneficiary of so many thoughtful people who purchased raffle tickets online to combat our cancelled BBQ fundraiser. We continue to host these raffles monthly on Facebook if you would like to drop in and see what we have going!

We have also been designated as the recipient of ‘Dollars for Doers,’ an Exelon Corporation program that rewards employees for their volunteerism by donating ‘dollars’ to non-profits of choice. We were both surprised and grateful to find we were identified by the family of Steve Isles who unexpectedly passed away in August. His family graciously honored Steve’s support of Camp Snoops in his life on earth by asking friends and family to make donations to Camp Snoops in lieu of flowers to honor Steve’s memory. The love and support we feel from everyone who is a part of Camp Snoops never wanes!

In the Spotlight…

Thank you, Mt Penn Elementary Center near Reading, PA for creating 100 personal care packs for Camp Snoops! These were given to Chris ‘Topher’ Bower of the Veterans Coalition of PA in October and will be utilized at the organization’s monthly ‘Stand-downs’ in Reading’s City Park and Pottstown’s Veteran’s Island. The Coalition also received shirts for veterans who use the coalition’s many services that are offered. VCOP was organized by veterans for veterans. Great appreciation goes to Principal Kelly Landherr and Secretary Maria Hahn for organizing the care pack assembly line! Mt. Penn students Cordelia and Aubrey helped out and were on hand to present them to Topher. THANK YOU!
